The exhibition “Art or Sound” explored the relationship between art and sound as well as its development since the sixteenth century. The show examined the iconic aspect of musical instruments, the role of the artist-musician and the overlying areas between art and music. The exhibition proposed a new interpretation of the musical instrument as a three-dimensional, purely visual object and of the visual object which becomes a sound phenomenon through a continuous invasion and inversion.
The curator Germano Celant explained it a few minutes before the opening at Fondazione Prada- Cà Corner della Regina in Venice.
