“Le Notti dell’Angelo” was an original art and culture TV format as well as a new way to make TV, which later became a model for many other programmes. For the first time the authors themselves - Maddalena Bregani, Michele De Mieri, Alessandra Galletta, Anton Giulio Onofri, Marco Senadi and Francesca Tomasin – were responsible for the production. MiniDV cameras were used and not by a specialised crew. For the first time, a programme was edited at the network with a PC and the newly available AVID programme.
This group of writers produced monographic episodes on cultural themes with an interdisciplinary approach, original interviews and video clips, edited with existing material and film extracts. “Le Notti dell’Angelo” experimented with a then new language able to convey complex meaning – on contemporary art, philosophy and literature – without the aid of a presenter or voice over.
Some episodes included:
Arte e Gnocchi alla Biennale (Art and (Gene) Gnocchi at the Biennial). 47. Venice Biennial special, with the surreal but to the point guide of Gene Gnocchi, accompanied by his old grandmother, Maria Ravanetti – late Orlandelli.
